GROWING SO FAST!!

Our beautiful baby girl is growing soooooo fast. She will be 8 months in two weeks. SO CRAZY!!
She finaly started rolling about a month ago. She will roll from her back to her tummy and then back to her back, but only on her left side. She is silly!! And then a couple of weeks ago she started sitting. She does really well.
She has been so much fun!! It's sad how fast they grow, but we love her sooooo much!!

FAIR FUN!

Bryan got one of these turkey legs and Oakleigh absolutely loved it.

This picture is for Grandma and Grandpa Yancey who are on a mission in Palmyra, New York. We got together with Bryan's family the weekend that we took the kids to the fair. We know how much they miss the grandkids so we thought that we would take a picture of those who were there so that they can see how much they are growing and changing. We are so proud of their example to all of our kids and want them to know how much we love and miss them and can't wait for them to be home. See you in November!!!

I know that this post is a little late since the fair ended over a week ago. But better late than never righ?!?!
Bryan is from Blackfoot so the fair is a big thing for him. He LOVES to go, so we usually go 3 or 4 times. We will take the kids in for a day and let them ride rides, walk around and look at the animals and eat. (That is probably the best part of the fair!!!!)

HELP!!

K, so I know that I should probably be blogging all of our happy, exciting, positive moments, but this one is not. This post is more like a cry for help.
As I have posted earlier, my incredibly handsome fabulous five year old little boy started kindergarten this year. He was so excited. But for some reason things are not going so well. He is not so excited anymore. He has only been in school for 3 weeks and already is teacher is telling me that he doesn't want to do his work. He will not pick up his pencil, or his crayons unless she is standing over him every second making sure he is working. They had these state required tests last week to see how the kids are doing and at what level they are learning. His teacher sent home a note with his score on it. She said that he scored a 1. A 1? She said that he only recognized one letter in 1 minute. WHAT? Are you serious? When I went in for Parent Teacher Conference at the end of the year last year his pre-school teacher showed me the results from the exact same test and he knew 24 letters then. How does that happen? So what do I do? I go to Walmart last night and buy him some flash cards so that I can help him. I sit down with him, mix up the flash cards and start showing them to him. The little stinker knows all of them except 2. He thinks the Z is an S and he struggles with the N. So it's not that he doesn't know his stuff, it's just that he doesn't want to do it.
HELP?!?! Does anyone have any suggestions?

BACK 2 SCHOOL!! BACK 2 SCHOOL!!

My kids actually went back to school a couple of weeks ago. But things have been so crazy this past couple of weeks that I am just now getting around to posting this. Madi is in 4th grade this year and is loving it. She loves her teacher and loves that she only has about 20 minutes of homework at night. Which for us is a huge change from the last couple of years. In the past she has had atleast an hour of homework and then an additional 20 minutes of reading.

Wyatt started Kindergarten this year. That was really hard for me. I remember when Madi started Kindergarten and Wyatt was only as big as Oakleigh. I don't care how many kids you have put through school, everytime you have to take a new one to Kindergarten for the first time, it is not easy. It is such and emotional thing for me. Does anyone else have this problem? But he LOVE, LOVE, LOVES it!! His teacher is Mrs Anderson at Harwood Elementary. He thinks that is so great because her and her husband work the same shift at the temple as my parents and Bryan's parents. So he thinks it's cool that Mrs. Anderson knows his grandparents!

Our summer is officially over. Madi is back into dance and I have started teaching piano lessons again after taking the summer off. But so far things have been GREAT!!
